エリサベト、マリアの挨拶 / Elizabeth and Mary Meet, a Homily
そのころ、マリアは出かけて、急いで山里に向かい、ユダの町に行った。 そして、ザカリアの家に入ってエリサベトに挨拶した。リアの挨拶をエリサベトが聞いたとき、その胎内の子がおどった。エリサベトは聖霊に満たされて、 声高らかに言った。「あなたは女の中で祝福された方です。胎内のお子さまも祝福されています。–ルカ1:39-42
At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 今日わたしたちは、
二人のみごもっている女の人を見ています。
一人は、知恵がある老婦人、
一人は純粋な信仰の若い女性です。
天使たちは、
イスラエルの最後の預言者の母が、
天地を造られた神の御母を抱いていることを
眺めて、黙って立ちます。
ザカリヤは自分の妻を大に誇[ほこり]りにしています。
胎内の子供たちが互いに見分けたかのようです。
喜びおどれ、
王の王、主の主、
全世界のあがない主はこられます。
喜び歌え。
Today our eyes are on two pregnant women.
The one is a wise old woman,
the other a young woman of clear faith.
The angels gaze upon them as
the mother of the last prophet of Israel embraces
the mother of the God who made heaven and earth.
The angels are struck speechless.
Zekariah swells with pride for this wife of his.
The children in the womb
would seem to recognize each other.
Oh dance, dance for joy!
The King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
the Savior of the world is coming.
Sing, sing for very joy!
